The Berlin-bred electronic duo drenches their latest album “Harmony” in sweat, heart, and headbangers.

Brutalismus 3000 dropped their first LP in three years, Harmony. The 13-track album contains tinges of the underground Berlin techno scene, while opening up space for a post-era of electronic music that isn’t widely heard in the United States. Brooklyn-based duo Victoria Vassiliki Daldas and Theo Zeitner seem to have infused the surly grit of the New York rave scene and have paired it with Berlin’s recognizable musical mechanics and imperfect instrumentation. The seismic body of work features narration from actor Anya Taylor-Joy (who is a self-proclaimed raver), Boys Noize, and Underworld. Here are some of our favorite producers who built the creative terrain for Harmony to leap off of.
Production credits on “No Friends In The Company,” “Garland,” “A Milli,” “Mother Bug,” “I Bring My Gun To The Function,” “Kairo,” “Morning Is For The Happy,” “You Were Never Really Here But I Miss Ya,” “Friends At The Pigshed,” “Gore Louvre,” “Leonard Cohen,” “Testo Skin Part 1,” and “Testo Skin Part 2”
Theo Zeitner met his partner, Vassiliki Daldas, on a dating app, and they haven’t looked back since. Zeitner is the anchor for Harmony, as he laid out the cranked-out-BPM foundation for the duo’s sophomore album, which ranges from warehouse dubstep and techno to innovative soundscapes. His comfort resides in creating climactic dance anthems with unique sonic synth structures, volume-blowing vocals, and drum fluctuations.

Boys Noize contributes a sort of electrified, blaring bounce sound to nearly every track on Brutalismus 3000’s newest album. Known for their punk influence on house music, Boys Noize captures an essence of youth that Zeitner chases after in his musical production. Together, they create an amalgamation of a track that fuses various layers and eras of dubstep and techno that hasn’t been seen before. The German producer and DJ also has production credits on tracks by rap artists like A$AP Rocky, Snoop Dogg, Ty Dolla $ign, and more.

100 gecs' Dylan Brady and Zeitner worked equally on Harmony as they came together to meld the worlds of nu-metal, trap, techno, and dubstep. “You Were Never Really Here But I Miss Ya” showcases on full display how collaborators coming together can lead to an electronic anthem of a track when minds collide. The European-meets-American flair of EDM culminates in an album that is more of a sensory experience than one that is to be listened to one track at a time. Brady has collaborated extensively with artists, such as Charli xcx, Selena Gomez, Rico Nasty, and more, and operates an independent record label called Dog Show Records, an imprint of Diplo’s label Mad Decent.
